Color can have a profound impact on our emotions, moods, and overal well-being. Colorful artwork is a powerful force you should use in your everyday environment

"Our world is awash with a rainbow of colours, but certain shades can have a surprising impact on our ability to concentrate, our mood and even the flavours we experience." Mark Ellwood, BBC Future, 2022

Color is indeed a powerful force that can have a profound impact on our emotions, moods, and overall well-being. In the realm of art, color is a crucial element that artists utilize to convey their ideas, evoke certain feelings, and create visually stunning compositions.

Abstract artwork, in particular, often makes use of color in bold and vibrant ways. Abstract art focuses on the interplay of shapes, forms, and colors, allowing the artist to express emotions and ideas without being bound by representational constraints. It provides a unique platform for exploring the power of color to its fullest extent.

In digital art, artists have a wide range of tools and techniques at their disposal to manipulate color. Digital platforms offer endless possibilities for experimentation and expression. Artists can create vivid and dynamic compositions, using gradients, overlays, and various blending modes to achieve captivating effects.

Colorful abstract artwork can be visually stimulating and captivating. The use of vibrant hues, contrasting tones, and harmonious color schemes can create a sense of energy, evoke certain emotions, and even transport the viewer to another realm. Abstract art allows for subjective interpretations, inviting the viewer to engage with the artwork and derive their own personal meaning from it.

The Power of color meditation, artwork by Ludwina Van Hyfte

Color and light are some of the most important elements in art.

It was in 1666 that the English scientist Sir Isaac Newton discovered that when pure white light passes through a prism, it separates into all visible colors. Newton also found that each color is made up of a single wavelength and cannot be separated any further into other colors.

Further experiments demonstrated that light could be combined to form other colors. For example, red light mixed with yellow light creates an orange color. Some colors, such as green and magenta, cancel each other out when mixed, resulting in white light.

"Given the prevalence of color, one would expect color psychology to be a well-developed area," researchers Andrew Elliot and Markus Maier noted in a review of the existing research on the psychology of color. "Surprisingly, little theoretical or empirical work has been conducted to date on color's influence on psychological functioning, and the work that has been done has been driven mostly by practical concerns, not scientific rigor."

Color psychology suggests that different colors can have specific psychological effects on individuals. For example, warm colors like red and orange are often associated with energy, passion, and excitement, while cool colors like blue and green can evoke feelings of calmness, tranquility, and harmony.

Artists can leverage this knowledge to elicit specific emotional responses or create particular atmospheres within their artwork.

It is as if color gives a taste to artwork, and some colors can make it taste sweeter

In the same way you can make something feel sweeter if it's brighter coloured  It's just like a bright red apple: before you've bitten into it, you expect it to be sweeter.

In summary, colorful abstract artwork in the realm of digital art holds tremendous potential for conveying emotions, capturing attention, and leaving a lasting impression.

The power of color to heal, to empower, and to impress is evident in the transformative impact it can have on our surroundings and our perception of the world we live in.

Artists with great storytelling become more famous over time

I think storytelling is key for collectors. It adds historical relevance and boosts the value of the artwork as time goes by. Plus, artists with great storytelling become more famous over time.

Telling a good story, and we all know a good story when we hear one, is an art. But there’s some science behind that art of storytelling.

"Leo Widrich
In his essay “The Science of Storytelling: What Listening to a Story Does to Our Brains”, entrepreneur and storyteller Leo Widrich noted that there’s research to suggest that when we hear a story, “not only are the language processing parts in our brain activated, but any other area in our brain that we would use when experiencing the events of the story are, too.” For example, sensory details like the client was as excited as if he had won the lottery engage a listener’s sensory cortex. Action words like drive this project home engage the motor cortex, all leading to a more connected and richer experiencing of the message. In short, the more a speaker conveys  information in story form, the closer the listener’s experience and understanding will be to what the speaker actually intended."

Neuroscientists are still debating these findings, but we know from our own experiences that when we’re listening to a good story — full of metaphor, rich in details, expressive of character — we, the listener, tend to imagine ourselves in that same situation.

Neuroscientists discovered that chemicals like cortisol, dopamine and oxytocin are released in the brain when we are listening to a story.

If you’re trying to engage storytelling is essential. If you're trying to influence, teach, or inspire others, you should be telling a story.

These's are all pictures of the Tiger TwinSouls collection

Inspired by Akianes "The Light" a true story of soulmates,
finding each other before the end of all you take for granted could take place.
The time for soulmates to reunite and miracles to happen daily has finally arrived.
It made time stand still, indeed the light transcends time when twin souls are born.

We can see the universe in so many ways... But when not illuminated it looks all empty. From far away our world like a firefly at night appears lit only momentarily. From far away our life might appear insignificant.
What the tiger twinsouls are telling us is that on the bridge to eternity, every breath and every heartbeat is welcomed and embraced. That once in a while, the light transcends time when twin souls are born. Time stands still and all the memories still to be lived become one complete echo we can all hear in the heartbead of the universe.

What influences the popularity of artwork in 2023?

Let's explore the factors that often influence the popularity of artwork in 2023

I had a look at what is bestselling at the largest existing art print community, Fineartamerica

At Fineartamerica.com you can browse through millions of paintings from classic artists such as Picasso and Monet along with 500,000+ independent artists from all over the world.   We have acrylics, watercolors, and every medium in between.   Each painting is available to purchase as a print, and many paintings are available as originals, as well.   Decorate your home with incredible paintings from the world's greatest artists.

Here's what I learned:

Subject Matters:

Artworks featuring popular subjects such as landscape, cityscape, animals, portraits, and abstract themes are tending to have a broader appeal.

Style and Technique:

Different art styles and techniques resonate with different audiences. Realism, impressionism, abstract, and contemporary art are some popular styles.
On the other hand, unique and masterful techniques can also capture attention.

Emotional Appeal:

People buy art because they fall in love with it.
Art that evokes strong emotions or tells a compelling story can connect with viewers on a deeper level, making it more likely to be sought after.

Trends and Themes:

Discover what is trending. Current trends or themes in the art world, society, or popular culture can influence the popularity of specific artwork.
Stay up to date with emerging trends can help artists create pieces that resonate with a larger audience.

Artist's Reputation:

Established artists with a strong reputation or following often have an advantage in selling their artwork. Collectors and art enthusiasts may actively seek out pieces by renowned artists.

Marketing and Promotion:

Effective marketing and promotion play a crucial role in making art visible to potential buyers. Artists who actively promote their work through various channels, including social media, galleries, exhibitions, and online platforms, are more likely to gain exposure and generate sales. Remember, the people that are not likely to purchase your art as "wallart" migth want to actually wear your pieces of art when you change them into wearable art.
